RADIO enthusiasts are hoping to erect a huge military antenna near Worcester.
Members of the Worcester Radio Amateurs Association (WRAA) and the Vintage Military Amateur Radio Society (VMARS) are teaming up for a camping weekend on Saturday, May 19. and Sunday, May 20, when they will test antennae and operate vintage military radios.
Military vehicles will also be at the camp, including Ferret and Saracen armoured personnel vehicles, a Uni-mog, Land Rovers and a Bedford MK lorry.
Ex-servicemen who remember this equipment when it was in use around the time of the Second World War are invited to take part.
Anyone who wants to find out more can call WRAA chairman Pete Badham on 07923 469248, e-mail him at pete@g0wxj.demon.co.uk or visit www.wraa.co.uk.
