MORE than 30 new cars are set to be exhibited in the streets of Worcester next month as part of a new show for the city.
The Worcester Motor Show will be the first event of its kind to help bring the car showroom to the high street and give people the chance to see the very latest vehicles without having to travel.
Set to be not only the first of its kind but also a great attraction for the city and local dealership, the event, which takes place on Saturday, May 19, is expected to be very popular.
Cars will be positioned along Worcester's High Street and in CrownGate and Cathedral Plaza shopping centres, between 9am until 5pm.
Georgia Smith, head of VisitWorcester, originally came up with the idea and asked for help from the Worcester News.
Miss Smith said: "In deciding to stage the Worcester Motor Show in the High Street, I wanted to make sure we could create a great day out for the whole family. So not only will there be fantastic new cars to look at, but there will be children's activities and retail offers too."
Sara Matthews, events manager for the Worcester News, said she was also excited by the prospect of a major new event for the city.
Mrs Matthews said: "Everything is going really well with the motor show. We are almost completely sold out for car spaces, exhibiting over 30 cars.
"We still have some spaces available for businesses associated with the motoring industry."
