MORE than 15 ex-racing greyhounds are bound for new homes as pets after turning on their doggy charm to customers at Webbs Garden Centre in Worcestershire.
A Greyhound awareness roadshow at the Wych-bold-based garden centre was staged by the Perry Barr Greyhound Trust and attracted huge interest from customers. The aim of the roadshow was to show people that ex-racing dogs are loving and affectionate and make ideal family pets.
Organiser Pam Dewar said: "We were thrilled with the response from local people. They really took the dogs to their hearts and that's an amazing number to have found homes for in just one weekend."
The day was such a success that the trust plans to return to Webbs on July 7 and 8 during for the store's 70th anniversary celebrations. Anyone int-erested in finding out more can also attend the Greyhound Rescue west of England awareness day at Webbs on June 9.
