EXPERTS will explore the links between climate change, allergies and asthma at a Worcester University conference.
Leading environmental and allergy experts will be discussing climate and health through a day of talks and presentations at the University of Worcester.
The event is hosted by the university's national pollen and aerobiology research unit, which undertakes research into pollen and asthma related illnesses.
The unit also supplies the Met Office with all of the UK's national pollen data.
The British Aerobiology Federation event will include presentations on the effects of climate change on asthma, hayfever and pollen levels, links between weather, air pollution and health, and will highlight climate change and flooding issues. Guests will include Alistair McCartney, president of the British Aerobiology Federation and Noel Nelson from the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution.
Professor Jean Emberlin, director of the national pollen and aerobiology unit, said: "This meeting addresses a range of extremely topical themes and with an excellent programme of talks by experts in the field, this event should prove extremely informative."
The event, which costs £7.50 for the public, is being held at the University of Worcester on Wednesday, May 9, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
