A WOMAN banned from a supermarket in Worcester has been made to pay £250 compensation to the manager after she racially abused him, slapped him in the face and broke his glasses.
Nadine Lane, aged 27, of Avon Road, Tolladine, was also sentenced to a 12-month community order during which she will be supervised.
The 27-year-old was also found to have missed appointments with the probation service and failed to attend court because she was ill.
Emily Lenham, prosecuting, said Lane entered Lidl on Newtown Road on February 15 last year and started to racially abuse the manager when he approached her and told her she was not allowed in the store.
"Mr Fraz was slapped on the left side of his face," she said.
"It bent the nose pads, knocked the glasses off his face and bruised his nose."
Lane left the store only to return later when she was arrested.
In mitigation Barry Newton said the incident was down to drink. He said: "She is one of life's victims is she not? The loss of her children and parents has made her vulnerable and prone to manipulation."
Worcester magistrates also sentenced Lane to one day in detention.
