PEOPLE in Worcester are being urged to find any unused large-print books they have and give them to St Richard's Hospice.
There is a shortage of the books, which are suitable for readers with visual impairment, both for patients at the hospice and in the charity's bookshops, where they are frequently requested.
Hospice shops and commercial director Dan Corns said: "We have a great selection of books and our Reindeer Court shop is hugely popular.
"But we often have people coming in and asking for large print versions, and they are not readily available. We also have patients in our day-hospice who would enjoy reading books in this format."
He asked that anyone who had a large print book to spare, takes it into the St Richard's Snowdrops bookshop in Reindeer Court.
St Richard's moved into its £5.25 million hospice at Wildwood Drive, Worcester, at the end of last year.
Fund-raisers are hard at work generating the £3.3 million which has to be raised this year to provide the ongoing specialist care and support for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families.
