GETTING county drug users out of their habit and into housing is the hot topic at an event on Friday.
Supporting People and Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team will jointly host the event at Worcester Rugby Club.
The aim of the event is to discuss the importance of housing provision for drug misusers and look at how Worcestershire can provide more accommodation for these people.
Phil Deakin, co-ordinator of Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team, said: "At present, although there is some housing provision in Worcestershire for people whose misuse drugs, there are still gaps that need to be filled.
"Drug misusers can be extremely vulnerable and without a stable place to live, the prospect of tackling their addiction can be almost impossible.
"I am very keen to see the development and implementation of housing provision that is sustainable and benefits both the community and individual."
The event will enable partners from a variety of different agencies to come together and play a role in delivering the new services required to provide a wider range of housing and support options to drugs users in Worcestershire.
