A MAN is wanted by police for indecently exposing himself to two girls.

Evesham Police has appealed for information about the man, who was in the town's Davies Road, between Morrisons and Jewsons at 7.15pm on Friday.

He stared at the first girl, making her feel uncomfortable, before exposing himself to the second.

A police spokesman said: "This young girl was immensely upset and she shielded her face as she ran towards her friend. Having told her friend what had happened, they both became extremely agitated and ran home, being too frightened to stop until they got there.

"An incident such as this is extremely rare but, nevertheless, extremely frightening for those involved and of concern to all parents of young girls.

"We are doing our utmost to identify the man and - as with nearly all enquires - will rely heavily on the help of the public."

Police want to trace the driver, and/or passengers, of what is believed to be a 4x4 vehicle - possibly silver, parked nearby.

The spokesman added: "We don't currently know if there is any connection between the vehicle and the man, but if not, someone in it may have information useful to our enquiry."

The offender is described as white, 5ft 11ins to 6ft tall, possibly in his 20s or 30s, of medium build and clean-shaven. He was wearing a black motorbike-style jacket and black tracksuit trousers tucked into black boots.

Police said if other young girls are approached in this way they should try to stay calm and tell an adult as soon as possible.

They should not enter into a conversation with the person and get away immediately.
