IT was perfect conditions for dozens of cyclists who took to the roads of Worcestershire for the first St Richard's Hospice Bikeathon.
More than 150 donned their helmets and shorts for the event aimed at attracting as much money as possible for the hospice, based at Spetchley, Worcester.
The cyclists all set off yesterday morning at the hospice's Wildwood Drive. headquarters. They had a choice of 15, 30 or 45-mile routes, all finishing back at the starting point.
Alison Weston, community fund-raiser for St Hospice, said it had been a day to remember.
"The weather was perfect for cycling in that it wasn't too warm and it stayed dry and we had a brilliant day," she said.
"We are delighted with the attendance and it has been a great success.
"There were some tired limbs afterwards. We wish to thank all the volunteers who made this possible and Worcestershire County Council."
