A HAIR stylist is preparing to lop off her sister's hair to raise cash for two charities.
Trish Carrey will be taking the scissors to Clare Davies's hair on Monday, cutting off more than a foot of it.
Clare is undergoing the drastic haircut to raise money for St Richard's Hospice, Worcester, and St Michael's Hospice, Hereford.
It will mark 25 years of running the Natural Therapy Centre in Worcester.
She said: "I've had long hair for the last 18 years so it will be a big change for me.
"Over the past 25 years, the centre has supported many cancer patients who have lost their hair during medical treatment, and I feel that to have my hair cut is a personal gesture to raise funds for a worthy cause."
Tricia Cavell, fund-raising manager at St Richard's Hospice - where Trish is a voluntary hair stylist for patients said: "I think it's a wonderful gesture by Clare and a very personal way to help raise funds for our patients and families. I'm sure with her sister wielding the scissors, she will love her new look!"
The Natural Therapy Centre is holding a number of fund-raising events this year. These include free drop-in healing workshops be-tween 10am and noon on the first Saturday of each month, excluding Bank Holiday weekends, at which charity donations are welcome.
For more information call the centre on 01905 612521.
St Richard's fund-raisers are hard at work generating the £3.2m that must be raised this year to provide specialist care and support for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and their families.
