Representatives from local re-use and recycling charities will be in the CrownGate today to offer Worcester shoppers advice on reducing, recycling and re-using more of their household waste.
Shoppers will get the chance to learn more about voluntary and community organisations who use waste such as unwanted bicycles, washing machines, fridges and computers.
The groups represented will include Freecycle, motov8, Worcestershire Lifestyles and The Network, which between them tackle anti-social behaviour among local young people, teach essential life skills and offer low-priced household goods to those on low incomes.
Working alongside the county council's Mission Impossible waste management team, these groups are hoping to bring the re-use and recycling message to more than 18,000 shoppers when they are in Bell Square from 10am to 3pm.
