AN elderly woman from Stourport has lost her life savings in a distraction burglary.
A woman pretending to be from Age Concern called at the victim's home in the Mitton Street area of the town and while they talked her accomplice sneaked into the bedroom and stole £500.
The victim realised too late that another woman had entered her home through the front door, which had been left ajar.
The women asked for a pen and paper, but were asked to leave and it was then that the victim, who is in her eighties, discovered the money was missing.
The burglars are described as white, aged 18 to 19, 5ft 1ins to 5ft 3ins tall, of slim to medium build, with short hair, and were wearing summery dresses.
A black BMW was seen in the area at the time of the incident.
Witnesses, or anyone else with information are asked to contact police on 08457 444888, or to ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
