HUNDREDS of people visited the Worcester Flood Fair today.
The event - the first of its kind in the county - gave residents a chance to drop in and find out how to prevent and cope with flash flooding.
Described as a one-stop shop, there were 19 different organisations and companies on hand to offer advice and tips, including Eco Coverage Technologies which came from Chichester, Aquatic Control Engineering from Nottinghamshire as well as Severn Trent and Merica Inshore Search and Rescue.
Margaret and Roy Smith, of Longfellow Road, Perdiswell, Worcester, were there hoping to get some ideas on how to prevent flooding.
Mr Smith, aged 72, said their property was flooded in 1989.
"We lost absolutely everything," he said. "There was a total of £38,000 worth of damage.
"I'm going to leave today armed with leaflets and ideas."
The fair, held at the Guildhall in the High Street, Worcester, was organised by local flood campaigner Mary Dhonau. It came about as a result of the flash flooding of 2004 and 2006.
