ONE person died and another was seriouly injured in an accident involving two cars on the M50.
The vehicles crashed on the A417 near Bromsberrow and junction 2, Ledbury, just after 5.30pm on Tuesday night.
Ambulances and the County Air Ambulance found two people trapped. One of them was confirmed dead at the scene, while a second, a 55-year-old man, suffered serious orthopaedic and abdominal injuries.
Firefighters cut him from the wreckage and he was flown to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where his condition is described as stable.
The crash closed the M50 for six hours, with the turn-off for Ledbury blocked until about 11.15pm.
Further details about the deceased had not been released as the Worcester News went to press.
