A SUPER-CHARGED healthy breakfast was the key to pupil performance in a learning exercise at a Worcester school.
Pupils at St Joseph's Primary School enjoyed fruit, bread and a glass of water as they learned about the importance of brain food to start the day.
About 120 pupils took part in the day at the school in Chedworth Drive, Warndon, yesterday.
Years three, four, five and six where then mixed up and put together in a series of groups so children of all ages were placed together.
They took part in workshops teaching them positive thinking, confidence and self-belief in learning, mind mapping - which teaches children more effective ways to absorb information - and memory skills.
The children were also taught about how different people learn things better in different ways.
Deputy headteacher Louise Bury, who helped organise the event, said: "The whole idea is that we're all different and all learn in different ways and to be proud of that."
The super learning day event was also held last year and the teachers hope it will become a regular part of the school's curriculum.
