FOOTBALL fans in Worcester are being asked to volunteer some of their spare time to help find the next Wayne Rooney.
A football club for boys and girls between the ages of four and 12 is looking for people to support coaches do their work.
The club is called Community Allsports, and has been running since January between 10am and 11am at Elgar school in Bilford Road.
Children pay £1.50 a week and receive tuition from Football Association qualified coaches. The club needs volunteers to ensure it can carry on running.
Sue Bentley, co-ordinator and developer for the project, said: "We rely on parents and others to give their time to support the professional coaches, and we'd be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to help out.
"We can offer volunteers help to obtain a qualification if they wish.
"Junior football organisers and students are very welcome to come and gain experience."
The project is supported by Worcester City Council and Worcestershire Football Association sports development officers. Youngsters taking part are encouraged to join their local FA chartered standard football club when coaches and parents feel the child is ready.
The new term starts on Sunday, April 22, and runs until August. For more details call Ms Bentley on 07789 408180.
