THE search is on for Herefordshire's most outstanding musician.
People of all ages and abilities can be nominated for the Elgar In Hereford Award, which is for contribution rather than musical ability.
Paul Aldred, head of Herefordshire Council's music service, said: "Herefordshire has some incredibly talented musicians supported by people who help promote and improve the quality of this talent. We hope the committee will get a broad range of nominations and it is fitting that it will be presented at an event hosted by the county's young musicians."
The award will be presented at a special showcase concert by the 60-strong Herefordshire Youth Orchestra in the Shire Hall, Hereford, on Tuesday, May 8.
Tickets are available on the door, priced £4 adults, £3 concessions and free for under 18s. All the proceeds go to cover the costs of the concert.
