PLANS to squeeze up to 6,300 homes into Malvern Hills district may not work, say parish councillors.
The West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy was discussed at Kempsey Parish Council this week.
Malvern Hills district councillor Mike Biddle said he believed the largest option - which involves building 6,300 homes in the district - would not work unless improvements were made in the infrastructure.
He said: "The largest option cannot be done and even the middle one is pushing it."
The strategy involves three separate options for Malvern Hills district - the first involves building 3,600 homes based on current house building rates.
The other two options both stipulate that 6,300 homes should be built, based on Worcestershire County Council and Government targets.
The chairman of the parish council, Ray Ellis, said: "In reality its not possible because the infrastructure would not cope."
