HERE are the latest selection of girls vying to represent the county in Miss England by being crowned Miss Worcester 2007.

Any one of these lovely ladies could be walking tall if enough Worcester News readers vote them into the final heat when the polls open on Monday.

Applications have now closed for the competition, and on Monday the Worcester News will publish details of every competitor who has contacted us with their forms and pictures.

Once the fortnight-long voting period has finished, the 10 most popular contestants will be invited to the final heat.

The final heat will take place at Worcester racecourse on Saturday, May 5, where every one will be asked why they should be crowned Miss Worcester. Last year's winner, 21-year-old Selina-Nicole Lavictoire, who lives in St John's, will be taking part in the judging this year.

The overall winner will get to take part in Miss England in September - and even in Miss World if they win that.
