A ROCK siren has won Worcester's answer to X Factor - Text Factor - after holding her nerve in a nail-biting final.
Self-styled soulful rock chick' Charlotte Holland from Worcester proved too much for the competition at the James Bond-themed final of Text Factor at Sin Bar, New Street, Worcester, on Wednesday night.
More than 600 people packed the bar to watch Miss Holland walk away with a £5,000 cheque in front of guest of honour Ben Mills who came third in the hit television show X Factor, on which Text Factor is styled.
Miss Holland's songs included Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon from James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, the Dusty Springfield classic Son of A Preacher Man and Undiscovered by James Morrison.
Indigo, a trio of energetic singers and dancers, came second and Rob Faul third. Ten acts took part in the final having won through from previous rounds in the 12-week competition.
Paul Todd, Sin Bar operator, said: "I think the competition has been fabulous.
"It has been good to have a stage for local talent and a lot of people have really grown which is nice for us, especially with people who seemed a bit shy."
Mr Todd revealed that many of the contestants had been plagued by illness and throat problems which had hampered their performances, including Rosie Charlton, who lost her voice on stage and had to retire from the contest.
As well as judging, Ben Mills sang I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith and other classics.
