PEOPLE have been warned to be extra vigilant after reports of a window cleaner conning the elderly and vulnerable.
The man has been doing a poor job and charging extortionate prices in Stourport-upon-Severn.
PC Tony Hunt, of Stourport police, said the man has also been returning to the same addresses and claiming more work needs to be done.
"Unfortunately, some un-scrupulous people target the homes of the elderly because they see it as easy money," said PC Hunt.
"They can include bogus officials, or, as in this case, people who charge over the odds for shoddy work."
He urged elderly or vulnerable people who needed windows cleaned or work doing to use a reputable firm or one recommended by family, friends or neighbours, and not accept offers by people knocking on doors.
He said people should always obtain a written quote before work starts and never to allow anyone into their homes without carefully checking their identification. Anyone with information can call police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
