LED Zeppelin fans will be facing something of a dilemma tonight.
Fans of the rock legends have to choose between two tribute acts playing in Worcester - Whole Lotta Led at the Swan Theatre and Fred Zeppelin at the Marr's Bar in Pierpoint Street.
Both bands are touring the UK and receiving rave reviews. Fans of Led Zeppelin, one of the most revered bands in rock music, will no doubt have a hard time deciding who to go and see.
Gig-goers should also keep an eye out for Robert Plant, the lead singer of the real Led Zeppelin, who lives in Shatterford, near Kidderminster, and has been known to check out tribute acts on occasion.
Zeppelin drummer John Bonham is buried in Rushock Church, further strengthening the band's links to Worcestershire.
Led Zeppelin sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide, recording classics such as Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir.
Fred Zeppelin, affectionately known as the Fredz, were formed in 1993 out of their mutual admiration and love of the band.
Readers of music magazine Kerrang once voted the band among the top 10 best live bands to see. They were the only tribute act listed, a huge achievement but, as the name suggests, they do not to take themselves too seriously.
Brian Marr, who runs the Marr's Bar, said he booked the band months ago.
"I booked these guys ages and ages ago, the Swan must have booked the others after. Either way, it's going to be a good night."
With admission on the door on the night, he wasn't able to say if ticket sales were being affected.
Last year the Whole Lotta Led band members realised they could make quite a living in the tribute band market and quit their day jobs. They are equally well-thought of and have an army of loyal followers.
Guitarist Nick Ferris said: "We have seen the Fredz play a few times in the past, and Steve Gale (Fredz singer) has been to some of our shows, so we know each other a little.
"Perhaps we could arrange for both bands to have a Battle of Evermore, or in this case a Battle of Worcester."
The Swan show is not a Worcester Live event, as the venue is being hired out by Good Times Promotions. A spokesman from the company said he did not know Fred Zeppelin were playing too.
"It's a shame there are two Zeppelin bands playing in the same town on the same night, but sometimes these things happen," he said. He said tickets were selling well.
Tickets to see the Fredz are £8 from Music City in the Tything and £10 on the door. Tickets to see Whole Lotta Led are £12.50 from the Worcester Live box office on 01906 611427.
