AMBULANCE services in the two counties have been put under pressure following a spate of road traffic collisions that all happened within an hour.
Crews were first called to the B4197 at Great Witley at 3.50pm today (Thursday) following a collision involving two cars. Two people were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.
Half-an-hour later, at 4.20pm, six ambulances and the County Air Ambulance from Cosford were called to the Herefordshire village of Eardisley following an incident believed to involve four injured people.
Just 10 minutes earlier two ambulances and the County Air Ambulance from Strensham had gone to Worcester Road, Kidderminster, where a motorbike and a car had been involved in a collision.
On the ground, crews treated the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, for shoulder and leg fractures before he was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, for further treatment.
Another collision between a lorry and car was reported at 4.30pm on the A4352 at Clifford but no one required treatment.
Finally, at 4.50pm, the ambulance service received a call to a two-car collision on the Birmingham Road, Lickey End, where one person had to be treated by ambulance staff.
