MALVERN'S award-winning pub the Nag's Head is hosting a four-day beer festival to celebrate St George's Day.
The St George's Brewery Mediaeval Beer Festival opens on Thursday, April 19, at 7pm and finishes on Monday, April 23, the saint's day itself.
A marquee on the pub car park decorated with a castle-style facade will offer dozens of cask ales, there will be a daily treasure hunt, entertainment in the form of roving minstrels, Shakespearean recitals, a harpist and a court jester as well as outdoor games including giant chess and giant Jenga.
Landlord Duncan Ironmonger, who will find himself in the stocks for part of the event, said: "We want it to be more than just a beer festival, more a mediaeval fete with lots going on, something for everyone."
Staff will be in fancy dress and there will be a medieval menu each day. Money raised by the St George's Day celebrations will be donated to the Poppy Appeal.
