MALVERN Hills District Council has given advice on how people can tackle climate change in a special magazine.
The latest issue of View From The Hills, sent out to residents every quarter, sites climate change as the biggest danger humans face. It says in Malvern, residents each have a lifestyle three times over the budget for sustainable living. The council is urging people to bring their carbon footprint down by taking several simple steps to become more green.
The magazine says residents should switch off appliances off rather than leave them on standby, dry clothes outside rather than in a tumble dryer and use low energy lightbulbs throughout the house.
It also says when cooking use a saucepan the same size as the ring and keep the lid on. The council has also called on residents to use a renewable energy supplier for electricity and switch if necessary.
View From The Hills magazine is available at Malvern Hills district council buildings for people without one.
