THE Easter weekend is one of the highspots in the point-to-point calendar and there are two top meetings being held locally.
On Easter Monday, the North Cotswold Hunt's races take place at Paxford, near Chipping Campden, while on Easter Tuesday large crowds are expected for the Croome and West Warwickshire Foxhounds fixture by the riverside at Ryalls Court, Upton-upon-Severn.
Now in its 123rd year, the Croome meeting is a major event on the county social scene with 4,000 racegoers likely to attend. More than 200 horses from across the country have already entered. The event is organised by a team of 75 hunt volunteers, from fence builders and stewards to car park attendants and race card sellers, the whole team working together to put on a day of fun for the crowds.
Gates open at 11am with the first race at 2pm.
Admission is £10 per person, under 16s free.
