OAK trees in Warndon Villages, Worcester have been labeled a safety hazard.
Members voiced concerns about the dangers stag-headed oak trees could pose to motorists or pedestrians, at a recent Warndon Parish Council meeting.
Councillor Yvonne Griffiths told the meeting: "Around the parish in general there are quite a lot of stag-headed oaks with branches which do fall off. We have got one and I go out and pick up the branches.
"If they fall, they will either crash onto the road or onto someone walking by and hurt them," she said.
Dan Robb, the parish council's volunteer tree warden, said: "There's lots and lots of trees in these villages. They need to be looked at between every three and five years. These have never been looked at."
Ian Yates, Worcester City Council parks manager, said a course was being developed in basic tree inspection and suggested parish volunteers might be able to take part in that.
