A MAN gallantly went to the aid of a girl after she was pulled to the ground by her hair and kicked by a gang of female youths at a train station in Worcester.
After intervening in the assault, the man saw the girl safely onto a train at Worcester Foregate Street and travelled with her to Malvern where he left without his identifying himself. The girl, who was kicked in the stomach while on the floor, also had a slight leg injury.
Police say the man, and a number of pedestrians and cyclists in the area at the time, may have information crucial to identifying the three teenage females and a youth who committed the attack around 8pm on Wednesday, March 28.
"We would very much like the man who went to the girl's rescue to come forward so that we can thank him for his gallant actions and find out what information he can give about the incident and the assailants to assist our enquiries," said a police spokesman.
