A VOLUNTEER group hoping to keep Worcester's Warndon Villages clean is looking to expand its members.
At a meeting of Warndon Parish Council, volunteer tree warden Dan Robb said for several years, some Warndon Villages residents had adopted an area where they lived and kept it free from litter.
"We are all members of the Duckworth Trust. We will meet up several times a year to clean up the worst areas and also to help each other when needed," he said.
He told the meeting they now had nine families covering nine areas. They called themselves the Duckworth Trust Warndon Villages Volunteer Wardens.
"We need more residents of Warndon Villages to join. The idea is to adopt an area, look after it and if there's anything wrong, report it back and keep that area nice and tidy," he told the meeting.
"We are supported by the Duckworth Trust, Warndon Parish Council and Worcester City Council, so if anybody in the village is going litter picking in their area, or anywhere else, we would like to to hear from them as we would like to register what areas they are doing."
He said a litter pick was planned for Saturday, April 14, at the Lyppard Grange Community Centre, Ankerage Green.
