A DRIVER had a lucky escape when her Mini was involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Focus near Droitwich.
The 20-year-old's car suffered extensive damage in the crash, which happened outside David's Nurseries at the Ash Lane traffic lights in Martin Hussingtree at about 10.20am today.
The impact of the collision forced the steering column up hitting the Evesham woman on the chin, causing her to bite her tongue.
She was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with a lower left leg injury.
The three occupants of the Ford escaped without injury, despite the car ending up in a ditch.
Emergency medical technician Deb Grant, of West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "All four people have had an extremely lucky escape.
"Given the level of damage to the Mini and the position of the other vehicle in the ditch, we might well have expected to have seen some serious injuries."
