A PAIR of new members have been co-opted onto St Peter’s Parish Council while a third former councillor has been re-appointed.
Although Cllr Greg Rowe had decided not to run for re-election to the council earlier this month after seven years, he was co-opted back onto the authority Monday, May 18 after the election earlier this month saw fewer candidates than posts.
Also co-opted were Cllr Ross Walker and Cllr Alan Tidy, taking the council’s total membership to seven.
Cllrs Paul Thorlby, Michael Johnson, Pam Clayton and Brenda Wheeler were all automatically re-elected to the council as the election was uncontested.
Cllr Thorlby was also re-appointed to his role as chairman at the meeting, but Cllr Johnson decided not to seek re-election as vice-chairman, and Cllr Clayton was elected in his place.
