THRIFTY parish councillors have saved the public purse £270 by shopping around for a new litter bin.
St Peter's Parish Council needed to purchase a bin after one was destroyed by a fire.
An original quote for a glasdon jubilee bin priced at £350 was received.
But councillors shopped around and settled on a final price of £80 for the new container.
The purchase was approved at a meeting on Monday evening (March 30).
