A pedigree dog that has been roaming the streets of Worcester for nearly a week has been found.
Jasper, a straw-coloured chihuahua aged seven, had been missing since he ran away from his home in Tolladine, Worcester, on Friday.
But a chance trip to a garage with a friend resulted in his owner finding her dog in Newtown.
Hilda Cushings, of Dove Close, said: "I saw his white tail. He ran away but I managed to turn the car around. I called for him and he just came to me. He was very muddy."
She said she was relieved to have finally got Jasper back because she was looking after him for her daughter, who lives in Dover, Kent.
"She was over the moon when I told her," she said.
"I'm going to take him back to her on Saturday."
Ms Cushings added that she was very touched by the amount of interest shown by Worcester News readers in helping to trace the dog after we first reported on her story last week.
"I just want to say a big thank you to everyone," she said. "Thank you for caring, but I have got my dog back at last."
