THE stability of a road running through the centre of a Worcestershire village could be threatened if the banks of a pond continue to erode, worried villagers claim.
West Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer has visited Hanley Swan to see the problem of erosion of the pond.
Sir Michael said: "I understand the banks of this pond in the middle of Hanley Swan have moved several metres over the last few years. They are close to the busy road which goes through the centre of the village. Villagers are worried the stability of the road could be threatened."
Sir Michael has written to Paul Jameson, head of highways, at Worcestershire County Council County, to ask whether the banks can be stabilised to protect the road.
