A HEROIN addict who stole meat, alcohol and an iron from supermarkets in Worc-ester to fund her drug habit has been sentenced to a community order.
Nazreen Herbert-Carter, of St Catherine's Vale, off Wyld's Lane, will be supervised and ordered to undertake drug rehabilitation for a year.
At a previous hearing, the 28-year-old pleaded guilty to four theft charges which amounted to £228.64, one of which happened at a time when she was due to appear in court. On Thursday, January 11, the duty manager of the Co-op store in St John's Bull Ring saw Herbert-Carter leave without paying for alcohol and food valued at £35.52.
On Wednesday, January 17, she was stopped by staff at Homebase, Blackpole, and found to have stolen an iron valued at £59.99.
Herbert-Carter also stole meat worth £39.31 from Sains-bury's, Windermere Drive, on Tuesday, January 23, at 12.30pm. At 10am that morning she had been due at Worcester Magistrates Court but had failed to attended.
Then on Sunday, January 28, she was found to have stolen items from Tesco valued at £95.82. Herbert-Carter is due to appear back at court on Friday, April 6.
