Children at a county school were warned to stay in as a firearm gang were on the loose.
Police have released sketchy details of an incident earlier today in Kidderminster.
Staff and children at King Charles I High School were warned to stay in after police went to a domestic incident at 11.12am.
Police were called to the incident in the Comberton area of town.
After unconfirmed reports a weapon may have been involved, police advised people in the area to stay indoors.
It was established there was no imminent threat and people were later allowed to go outside.
A search, involving the force helicopter, is continuing to track people down.
Police have stressed there is nothing to suggest the public are in danger.
Currently, the police cannot confirm the type of firearm involved, the precise location of the incident and the number of people involved.
