TRIBUTES have been paid to a man whose body was found in the River Salwarpe in Droitwich.
Richard Bourne had been missing from his home in Woodmans Place, Westlands since January 12.
Neighbour Margot Lee said the 37-year-old was a "lovely fella" who was "always kind and generous".
She said: "He helped me with the gardening and even did the shopping for me.
"He was marvellous and I can't say a bad word about him.
"He always made a point of speaking to me and was a lovely fella."
She also recalled one of the last times she saw her neighbour.
"I saw him only two days before he went missing. He came in here and we were talking and laughing and he seemed fine and his usual self.
"He was a good neighbour and I think he would do anything for anyone."
Concerns grew for unemployed Mr Bourne when he left his home without his medication and uncharacteristically without his pet dog.
An inquest into the death was opened on Friday by Worcestershire Coroner Victor Round, and a post-mortem examination has been carried out.
A decision on the cause of death is awaiting a toxicology report.
Anyone who believes they have information helpful to the police enquiry into Mr Bourne's death is asked to call 08457 444888, quoting 730S/150107. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
