VISITORS to one of Worcester's Tudor buildings were roped into a bit of construction work while they learned more about the city's history.
But it was nothing too strenuous - they were given the chance to rebuild Worcester in the 1500s by cutting out and colouring paper half-timbered buildings and placing them on a map of the city.
The fun and educational event was organised by Discover History run by Helen Lee and Paul Harding with the help of some of their 20 volunteers, dressed in Tudor costume, and was staged at the Tudor House museum in Friar Street.
Miss Lee said about 200 people turned up to the event on Saturday, February 24, and there was fun for all the family. While the children enjoyed making the houses, some of the adults tried their hands at the traditional craft of fishing net making.
The three-dimensional map is now in Tudor House and will stay there for about eight weeks as a temporary display.
The Discover History group is holding another event at Tudor House on Saturday, March 24, based on the 18th century when part of the building was the Cross Keys Tavern.
