THE president, Jill Brotheridge, started the meeting by welcoming members and visitors and thanking Anne Price for arranging the January visit to St Richard's Hospice and Kim Maric for organising the meal at the Crown Pub.
A letter had been received from Marilyn Peachey, the director of fund-raising at St Richard's, which was read to the members.
The team for the Worcestershire Federation County Quiz being held at Peopleton village hall tonight was confirmed - they are Anne Smith, Phillipa Wakeman, Liz Gray and Freda Barnes.
Numbers were also confirmed for those wishing to attend the annual council meeting at Malvern Theatres on Tuesday, March 20, were the main speaker will be Tricia Stewart, one of the original Calendar Girls Phillipa Wakeman had used her bursary to attend a course at Denman and she thanked members for the opportunity to go and reported that she had very much enjoyed the visit. Details for the final skittles match of the season were finalised. So far, Peopleton has won every match - so everyone was hoping for another victory.
Jill thanked June Sargeant for the beautiful Valentines flower arrangement of red roses and wished Kim Maric a happy birthday for Sunday, February 25.
Members then listened to a very interesting talk on skin care and make-up by Lynne Nash assisted by her model - June Scott.
Members had many questions to ask her whilst she demonstrated the art of applying make-up and how to look after your skin for those more mature in years. Anne Price gave the vote of thanks.
The monthly competition for "something heart-shaped" was a three-way tie between Jill Brotheridge, Brenda Hughes and Phillipa Wakeman.
The competition for March (hoping that spring will have arrived) will be Your Favourite Spring Flower.
Peopleton WI meets at Peopleton Village Hall on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm and would welcome any visitors who wish to come along.
The speaker for March will be Mrs Bache from the Casualties Union.
