President Shirley Miles welcomed members and visitors to the February meeting. It was with much regret that we learned of the recent death, after a year's illness, of Eileen Prangley. She had been a member for a number of years and had excelled at various crafts, always representing us at shows and rallies.

There were invitations for ladies to attend a meeting at St Gabriel's later in the month and the group meeting in March. Attention was drawn to various activities in the county newsletter, including the Lucy Hingley lecture in April and the spring rally in May. As usual, members had been out and about since the last meeting and reports were given on St Gabriel's new year meeting, the Worcester Male Voice Choir concert at Powick, our WI walking group and the meeting at Pershore regarding post office closures.

The speaker, Avril Pulley, had entitled her talk Too Good To Eat, and her sugar flowers were certainly just that. She had brought along beautiful examples she had made. Originally she had worked in clay at Royal Worcester Porcelain before changing to the medium of sugar icing. We all watched keenly as she showed us how to make roses, primroses and freesias, and then how the flowers are wired and made up into sprays for wedding cakes. It was a fascinating demonstration.

On March 13, Garth Lowe will be giving us an illustrated talk on Badgers And Bats.

Visitors will be welcome. Further details are available from Sue Strang on 01684 592408.
