SCHOOLS around the county had a flipping great time on last week's Pancake Day.
All 300 children at King's Hawford, including the school's kindergarten, took part in pancake races to mark the day.
Headteacher Jim Turner said: "The children really enjoyed the races.
"They were all dressed up with aprons and a scarf as that was how the lady was dressed in 1445 when she ran from home to church on Shrove Tuesday after hearing the church bells ring."
Bowbrook House School, near Peopleton, Pershore, held its junior school pancake day to mark the occasion with a number of different races.
Youngsters at Franche Community First School, Kidderminster, took part in a pancake sampling session.
Every pupil in the school was given the chance to try a pancake at a special assembly, with the younger children in the school's nursery Wraparound class enjoying a special pancake session in between other activities.
