AN author has penned a children's book set in Ledbury.
Tim McGovan's second novel is called The Awakening and is described as an exciting and powerful ghost story.
It is aimed at 10-14-year-olds and follows on from Mr McGovan's debut release in 2013, The Girl with the Green Eyes.
The author, based in Worcestershire, says The Awakening recounts the story of 14-year-old Ellie-Mae Harper who, after a family bereavement, travels from her city home to rural Herefordshire to spend the school holiday at her aunt and uncle’s converted Victorian school home.
Unknown to her, however, the building conceals a tragic past and the teen rapidly becomes the target of unsettled spirits determined to exact revenge.
Mr McGovan says the tale deals with a number of challenging issues which children may be familiar.
