A THREE-year-old who visited each of the nutcrackers with her mum in Worcester's CrownGate has won a competition by the shopping centre for the best photos by each model.
There are 15 nutcrackers all with a different name around the shopping centre and people taking part in the competition were asked to send in photos of themselves by each one.
The winner was announced today as Ida Jaw, from Barbourne, and her mum Lizzie Jaw, who spent a few hours together visiting each nutcracker.
The family has won a Kindle Paperwhite, donated by Ryman Stationery, and £250 to spend at CrownGate Shopping Centre.
Mrs Jaw said Ida was delighted to discover they had won the competition.
"It's very exciting for Ida," she said. "We were so excited doing it anyway. I don't think she really understood it was a competition she just thought it was a fun day out. I told here she won something today and she was screaming when she found out.
"We decided to take part when we saw them, we thought it would be good fun. It was free and took a few hours, it was a bit like a treasure hunt for her.
"Her favourite was Olaf, because she's mad about the film Frozen."
The prize will be presented on Tuesday.
CrownGate marketing manager, Sara Matthews added: "We’ve been delighted at how well received our Christmas decorations and Nutcracker Trail have been this year.
"We wanted to bring something a little different this year, offering story time with Father Christmas, a story book to all children and the Nutcracker trail, all provided free of charge thanks to CrownGate Shopping Centre and support from Worcester BID.
"We know we’ve only seen a fraction of the photos actually taken by the public, but the selection we have seen shows everyone’s enjoyment of the activity."
An independent judge was brought in to choose the winning photograph and was selected based on the effort that had gone into putting together all the pictures.
Kevin Danks, manager at Rymans, said: "Congratulations to Lizzie Jaw on winning the kindle paperwhite, we are pleased to support Crowngate shopping centre & a fantastic event."
