THE Post Office is proposing to move Dines Green Post Office from its current location to a permanent new site.
The current branch has been operating from portable building outside the Co-operative Food store, following the regeneration of the area by the local council.
The proposed location for the branch will be a new purpose built unit, which is still under construction, and will be situated at 37, Gresham Road.
The new Dines Green Post Office would have level access, with a wide door. Internally, there will be a low-level serving counter, a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair. Roadside parking will be available outside the new branch.
Zoe Hibberd, Post Office field change advisor, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Worcester and we are confident this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Customers are being invited to air their views and comments during a six-week consultation, and can do so by visiting postofficeviews.co.uk, with branch code 16924799, or emailing comments@postoffice.co.uk.
The consultation is due to close on Tuesday, September 30.
Should the move go ahead, Post Office services hours would remain the same as before 8am-5:30pm Monday to Friday and 8am-12.:30pm Saturday.
