BY DAWN WOODS

IT'S THE season for weddings and Horrid Henry is being forced to be pageboy at cousin Prissy Polly's wedding.

Henry in the books is a junior, in reality it is 20 years since he first started entertaining our children, and he hasn't lost his desire to disrupt absolutely everything he can, getting his younger brother Perfect Peter into as much trouble as he is able.

Needless to say the wedding does not go off smoothly. In green satin knickerbockers Perfect Peters is in his element, but Horrid Henry attempts to jump puddles, pull faces in the photos and samples the cake before the reception. Yet Henry escapes blame on every account.

This particular title is in the Early Reader series, so children will be able to read this for themselves, allowing them to grow in confidence, and most importantly enjoy what they are reading. As always the stories are accompanied by Tony Ross' wacky illustrations, showing mayhem in Henry's actions and depicting the expressions on faces around him so well. The 20-year-olds born at the same time as Henry will enjoy it as much as today's five-year-olds.
