A CHARITY founder felt so guilty about not joining a charity walk last year that she has set up her own this year.
Jean Wilson said she regretted not taking part in last year's Free Radio Walk For Kids which raised money for three charities including the charity she set up, New Hope.
When Mrs Wilson, from Wells Road, Worcester, found out the event would not be running this year she decided to organise her own ten mile challenge walking from Worcester to Droitwich on Sunday, July 13.
The charity manager has roped in 15 other friends and family to join her on the canalside walk from the Diglis House Hotel, Severn Street, to St Andrew's Town Hotel, St Andrew's Drive.
She has called the fundraiser Walk For New Hope Kids and the money raised will go towards funding days out including transport costs for the children and could also pay for equipment too.
She said: "I chickened out of doing last year's Free Radio Walk For Kids and felt rather ashamed of myself when I watched thousands of hot tired people crossing the finish line and I vowed I'd do it in 2014.
"Unfortunately Free Radio is not hosting the walk this year so I decided to create my own walk to make up for last year.
"I've been training since march and have managed 6.6 miles so far which I'm pleased with as before training my idea of exercise was walking from my front door to my car door."
New Hope works with children with disabilities and provides support for parents and carers.
