BY ANNA GRIFFIN (aged 9)
Oleg Blowhole has a devious scheme to pick the pockets of every unsuspecting candy lover on the planet: DOWNLOADABLE CHOCOLATE™.
Oleg invites 5 people, each one of them involved in the confectionery industry and all with a reason to conceal naughty goings-on: Chu Chong, Eva Gabriella Chomp, Hank J Twizzler the Third, Viscount Herbert Dibdab and Flip Wrigley. Each one of them receives a memory stick downloaded with the DOWNLOADABLE CHOCOLATE™ virus.
After being uploaded into a computer, every computer, laptop and Smartphone in the area, is infected with a virus which makes sure that every time someone logs on, they are immediately taken to www.downloadablechocolate.com, where irresistible HD images of chocolate await, all for a reasonable price.
Meanwhile, Maciii (pronounced Mac3 and the main character of the book) is on the bus to school when it stops at a house it’s never picked up from before.
The driver announces that they are waiting for Joshua Bottleneck, a new kid. After a short delay, Joshua Bottleneck (or J.B as he prefers to be called) finally appears and introduces himself to the rest of the children as if he was a president giving a speech.
After a rocky start, Maciii and J.B soon make friends and after an incident at school, accidently become members of MI3 (and a bit). Their first mission is to follow Oleg Blowhole and stop his evil plan to make money with the DOWNLOADABLE CHOCOLATE™ scam.
Will they succeed before it is too late?
This book is filled with chocolaty treats and a perfect choice for reading over the Easter holidays. It’s a really funny story which had me laughing out loud. It is also exciting and had me holding my breath at times wondering what was going to happen next.
This book was published by Caboodle Books and is available to buy for £5.99.
