THE traditional free concert to mark Good Friday in Upton by Philomusica choir will take place once again in St Peter and St Paul Church.
The local choir will be performing the Passion Music from Handel's much-loved Messiah together with other music and readings appropriate to Good Friday on April 18 from 7.30pm.
Linda Parsons, Philomusica conductor, said: "We’ve been giving Good Friday concerts in Upton on Severn parish church for several years now.
"We think it’s a very good idea to mark Good Friday in this way and people really appreciate the fact that the concert is free of charge. We’re particularly pleased to be able to sing Handel’s wonderful music in this concert."
Linda will conduct the Philomusica Consort at the event and the pianist will be James Quinn.
