CLASSIC records will be spun in memory of one of a popular businessman.
The Terry Thompson Memorial Disco at the Pavilion in the Park, Cripplegate Park, Worcester, will honour the colourful character on Saturday (April 5) with the best in Motown, Northern Soul and classic soul.
Mr Thompson died on Christmas Day last year in St Richard's Hospice, Worcester, aged 64, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months previously.
DJs Ian Perks, Steve Descher and Pete Treadwell have offered their time for free and all proceeds will go to St Richard's Hospice, Mr Thompson's family hoping to raise about £1,000.
Sarah Thompson said: "It would be nice if we could sell all 400 tickets and nice if we could raise at least £1,000. Anything over that would be a bonus.
"The care they gave my father-in-law was just amazing and the care they gave the family, too."
Mr Thompson set up a chain of Housewives Choice shops in 1981 and went on to launch the Bowl Extreme venture in Perdiswell, as well as the family taking over the Pavilion in the Park.
He reopened Browns restaurant in Quary Street, under the name Browns Wine Bar, with his business partner Brian Hulme in 2012.
Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door and the night runs from 8pm to 1.30pm.
For more information and tickets, call the Pavilion on 01905 429800.
