ANOTHER 28,370 homes need to be built across south Worcestershire under a controversial housing blueprint, an inspector has today confirmed.
In the last few minutes a new figure has been released for the South Worcestershire Development Plan - and it's more than 5,000 higher than the old tally of 23,200.
It means councils in Worcester, Malvern and Wychavon need to now decide where all the extra properties will go.
The plan runs to 2030, and has caused bitter divisions over the last three years across the county.
Worcester MP Robin Walker has already called the announcement "disappointing" but bosses behind the plan say they are intent on coming to an agreement "as quickly as possible".
